Congratulations SSHM, you can read a dictionary. Did you find Bill McAbee's picture beside hypocrite? "I won't raise taxes." "Yes, I voted to raise your taxes (4 times)

Let's run with your thought "assume he is somewhat independent of any particular party, and just felt the need to file with the current status quo majority party."
If he's an independent, then run as one. I'm tired of people filing as Republicans just so they can get elected!

So if I
1) Donate to the Obama campaign today.
2) Click my heels together 3 times (with my ruby slippers)
3) Wish for him to become a Republican sometime in the future.
then it's ok to give the money to a Democrat (today)???
After all, I'm a life long republican too!!

Check the dates of contributions... Maddox and Allen were Democrats when they received $$ from MacKay. (not sure about O'Dell). So it's ok to give $ to Dems if you think they might, sometime in the future, switch parties? Wow, that is some powerful mind reading and predicting. Perhaps you and MacKay ought to go into the stock market or weather predicting.

"A true Republican Raymond MacKay"??? Please.
While I do not agree with the censure of the Republican party issued at the meeting last night, I cannot follow your train of thought that Mr MacKay is a true Republican. He donates money to Democrats!!! I cannot overlook that fact and neither should you.
Regardless of how the information got to the public, it cannot be refuted. Mr MacKay has not denied it. He can't. Use some common sense here, folks. If he votes for them and supports them financially.... you can connect the dots (I hope).

So now, it's ok to support a native Andersonian regardless of party affiliation??? Interesting. Nice try to divert the attention from the topic at hand. Can you find where MacKay supported a Republican candidate?? There are some fine ones that are "native Andersonians".(yourself excluded, of course)

I'm not as old as you are and don't quote books from the 1960s, but I can stick to "my party's" ideals. True conservatism doesn't compromise.
I think I've just about figured out who you are... Didn't your parents teach you how to be a good loser??

Typically, one votes the beliefs of one's party affiliation. That is why it matters in a county council race. Anderson doesn't need more taxes (the Democratic belief). We need less spending & smaller governmnet (the Republican beliefs). If you want a non-partisan race, run for City Council. You can't turn County Council into a non-partisan race. It wasn't one on June 10th and it won't be one on June 24th.

Please be careful how you classify "negative campaigning". I, personally, like to know facts about a candidate. If the facts shed a negative light on that candidate, some are quick to throw the "negative campaign" card. Facts are facts and they need to be shared. When you file for office, your opinions and past actions are fair game. We all need to be informed.
