After attending a political rally for Senator Kevin Bryant and a fund raiser for Dr. Marshall Meadors, I realized that the contrasting difference between the two candidates for Senate Seat District 3 is sharper than first appeared. While both men have a long history of community service, they have attracted groups of supporters who are vastly different in their views of the world.
In Senator Kevin Bryant political rally, supporters expressed strong feelings for family values, smaller government, securing our boarders against illegal immigration, and tough positions on crime. A large percentage of Senator Bryan supporters seem to come from a rural background, with various economic levels, but no racial diversity.
In Dr. Marshal Meadors fund raiser, supporters expressed strong feelings for public education, economic diversity, safety net health insurance, and environmental concerns. A large percentage of Dr. Meadors supporters seem to come from urban background, upper economic levels, but with racial diversity.
